Doesn't work with Anchor links
Reported by Chris Griffin | June 8th, 2008 @ 02:40 PM
Tried to shorten a URL with a jumplink in it. It will redirect to the right URL, but it leaves off the jumplink.

Chris,
Was this when you used the bookmarklet or did you copy/paste it into the text field?

For reference, I was trying to shorten this URL (with the bookmarklet).

Just tested it via the web site and it works fine. Must be the bookmarklet. You're using the one on the site, right? (rubyurl this! ?)

I'm trying to shorten the following URL via the text field on the website (on both Safari 3.1.2 and FF3.0.1 on OSX10.4.11), and I am told "Oh noez! [...]" The only thing that's suspicious is the presence of the anchor link, even though the behavior described in this ticket is not the same as what I've experience.
Problem URL: http://www.yelp.com/biz/georgeto...:7z99FDBai4w_cBf4Yy3-tA
Must I resort to using tinyurl for this particular URL? Say it ain't so! ;-)

Ian, that's really strange. I just tested that same URL and it worked fine for me.

That is weird. I tried again with a similar link, from the same site, and it worked fine (http://rubyurl.com/yKhs). Oh well! Sorry for the false alarm, although I swear it wasn't working for me for the initially-mentioned link. :)
